I loooove being able to see muscle definition--and know that I have to work hard to get it (especially a glute-ham tie in!). I associate bodybuilding with being healthy, strong, and disciplined. Growing up I believed that the only way I could be active and grow that discipline was if I played sports in school. Since I had no interest in playing a sport, and was not confident enough to participate in group activities because I would compare my abilities to theirs, I thought it was a lost cause. It wasn't until my gym class in high school (Girls High!) that I learned about weight training. Bodybuilding is a perfect fit for me- it's me vs. me, I can train by myself, and my results are a physical representation of the discipline, and effort that I put into my health. It helps with my confidence and gives me something else that I can share with other people. Training is individual effort, but there's a community of people who are just as passionate about it as I am. I love bodybuilding and i am grateful for Bodybuilding.com and my Body Space community!
