I got tired of watching my body deteriorate. I am strapped to a desk for long hours and have been very sedentary away from the office as well, setting a horrible example for my kids. I have never had much in the way of muscle and although I have never really been overweight I have been carrying more and more fat than necessary around my belly and midsection. Finally in late January 2016 I decided to get off my butt and build some sort of fitness base starting out with bodyweight exercises - pushups, pullups, air squats. I cleaned up my diet substantially at the same time and have been tracking macro's closely and eating at a small deficit targeting a 1 lb per week weight loss. Once I have cleaned up some of my excess blub and I have achieved a bit of a fitness base I plan to start a strength program and do a slow, relatively clean bulk.
