A military buddy that I was stationed with in Germany, which is now a best friend stopped by the house when I lived in Riverside CA and the first thing I immediately to notice to was how HUGE he had become. I asked him what in the heck happen to him and he told me he was weight training. I thought to myself, man the muscle he packed on really looks nice. Well, his visit was an eye-opener for me it was not long after that I drugged my behind into the gym, so I actually started lifting in 1995. Oh, btw he is the one that convinced me to give up the last remaining hairs on my head that I was so desperately holding on to and to shave my head completed bald. After that visit I was a changed man! Well, like I said I started ¡§lifting¡¨ but totally ignorant to key components to properly training. Needless to say, I¡¦ve wasted many YEARS and a lot of MONEY doing all the wrong things. Damn, what a shame! Anyway, I¡¦m older and wiser now. Fast-forward â³ I trained and completed my first marathon in 2009 but before the event I was over I¡¦d already started asking myself what I am going to do next. My current regime at the gym had become really monotonous, and that¡¦s when I discovered Bodybuilding.com. I quickly learned that I was on to something! Don¡¦t get me wrong, I did do some reading and even subscribed to few couple magazines but nothing helped, educated and motivated me like BB.com. It¡¦s here where I found REAL people, with common goals and interests that are ready and willing to help and give real life advice and information. I finally found a source that I can tap into and build a sound challenging lifting program and so much more! So, although I¡¦ve ¡§weight lifting¡¨ on and off for quite some time, do it the RIGHT way didn¡¦t start until last year.
Well, as rigorous as my schedule is ¡§I gotta love it¡¨. Getting up at 0345 to be at the gym NLT 0500, workout then be at the job by 0700 ain't no punk! And this is just the start of my day!! Working 12 long hours daily, 0700 ¡V 1530 (job 1) and 1600 - 1930 (job 2), get home and prepare to do it all over again. Like I said ¡§I gotta love it¡¨. My only regret is that I don¡¦t get the proper rest. This is the reasons that I MUST maximize my time in gym. I must admit that I do love the feeling of the pump. It¡¦s very addicting!! I¡¦ve had several different workout schedules; afternoon, evening and currently mornings, it just depends on my job but trust my buddy I¡¦m gonna it a workout in!
