I started working out approximately 2 years ago when I had to shave my head and begin my hair growth process all over again. I realized that since I was getting a fresh start with my hair, why not change my diet and physical activity as well. Throughout my younger days I've always struggled with my weight and was constantly teased and made aware of it. I needed to take control of the situation and become healthy.
I love the feeling of pumping weight. I like the rush I get before, during, and after a workout. Nothing can compare to the satisfaction you receive when you see yourself progress from dedication and hard work. I used to not be able to run for a minute, now I'm hiking and jogging nature trails. A while ago, I was under the impression that if I began lifting weights I would bulk up and get "big". I disproved that myth and am toning my body the way I want it to. Working out seems to be the only thing I can rely on to stay constant in my life. Plus, hitting the gym allows me to rid of excess stress and frustration I may be faced with.
