I got started by just looking up ways to get stronger on google. Led me to sherdog.com and their S&P forum. Learned a ton there and got me started on SS. I just wanted to be stronger but through posting there I got interested in Powerlifting. I wanted to increase my total and compete. I eventually did on Sept 10, 2011. I ended the meet with a 1036 lb total. Nothing impressive but a good start. My second meet will be higher. Next one higher still. I got started to get stronger because I felt weak. Now I want to get stronger to surpass myself. A quest to be better than before.
Deadlifting. I could just say that for why I love working out and be satisified. There is nothing that compares to pulling something heavy off the ground. You feel like you defied the weight and accomplished something of worth.
I also like the progression and getting stronger. Putting another plate on for a lift is an amazing feeling when you remember you were only squatting 135, then 225, then 315.. Its great to remember where you used to be and where you are now. Everything you've achieved between then and now and the drive to improve upon that. That's why I love training.
