I was 120 lbs at the end of my freshman year in college and decided to make a stand, a change, and a commitment to my body and health. In order to become what you want you must give up what you have already become.
Working out went from a burden to a habit. Health is my life and I'm here to put an end to the stereotypes of type one diabetes. I turn to working out whenever life throws a curve ball to me, which it did in June 2013. I was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and lost 30 lbs of muscle when I was put into the ICU. While in the ICU I set a hospital record for blood glucose level of around 1200. After my sugars were stabilized I was out of the hospital the next day; and hitting the gym the day after that. I gained my muscle back and am now working out for my health; to show that diabetics can do anything they set their mind to.
