It's a way of life. Get grumpy if I miss a couple days ;) Made tremendous improvements in overall health. Now I'm close enough, physique-wise, that I'm thinking about competing locally in April 2014. Kicking it into high gear now that the foundation of health is ready.
Bodybuilding was the only thing that enabled me to quit smoking permanently in July of 2012. Now I can run a 7 minute mile. Better than when I was in high school. My hypertension is all but gone (unmedicated). I should credit arginine therapy in part for this. I should also mention that most of my bloodwork falls into the textbook normal category.
Bodybuilding has made me a better person in many ways. My newfound zest for life has enriched my personal relationships. The acquired discipline and motivation that I now apply to all facets of my life have enabled me to pursue and achieve my professional desires and goals. Turns out that I clean up very nicely in a suit and tie too ;)
The functionality of being fit is an amazing and wonderful thing. I find myself embracing physical challenges and adventures instead of shying away as I used to do. Full contact football? Sure, I'm in! 20 miles nature hike to see Grey Owl's cabin? Of course! Don't forget the fishing rod though...
So yes, I feel amazing, and I think I look better too for what it's worth. Apparently, I am genetically predisposed to building muscle, so I can't wait to see how far this crazy train will go! Carpe Diem
