Self image issues begun early in adolescents, my body was the enemy and it needed to punished .Physically(inadequate nutrition/ over exercising) and mentally, my body took a beating until she said ENOUGH!
Results plateaued,hormonal imbalances ensued , digestion discomfort were apparent, and cognitive function suffered dramatically ....all in the name of pursuing that "Healthy" body image.....right?
You can not " HATE" yourself to a better body . Especially if your an individual who doesn't respond to well to negative criticism, So why would your body be an different?
Now I see my body as a significant other, one that needs to be listened to constantly. Like a significant other if I show it negativity it will respond with negativity. If I give it love and appreciation it will reflect the same. Basically focus on how good you feel on the inside and the outside will soon follow!
I'm an advocate of balance; nutritionally, physically and mentally. As someone who came from a world of you have to "suffer" to look good, I plan on sharing my journey with others, to show you can have your dream physique, be healthy (mentally/ physically) and make a nutrient dense diet a lifestyle change while still enjoying your social life (and occasional special meals...... Lucille's Flying Pig anyone? NOM NOM NOM!)
