I had interest in bodybuilding during the summer of my freshman year! for that 3 month period I hit the gym then I stopped! But wasn't serious about it, I was doing a lot of cardio and moderate weightlifting.
I started cranking the heavy weights around July 2011. I started because both my brothers are gym users and I decided to join in as a hobby, until the gym became a way of life and an healthy addiction towards an aesthetic look and competition.
Unfortunately being new back then in the gym all my attention was focused on weightlifting routines/workouts and so on, however my nutritional knowledge was lacking severely during my bulk I pretty much ate everything i was gained alot of weight (some muscle and lots of fat) so when I decided to cut some fat, again, my diet wasn't near enough to retain some muscle that I have gained and ended up losing to much weigh to fast. Being disheartened I pretty much took a massive break from the gym. Not until I discovered nutritional knowledge in bodybuilding and had a diet tracker and macros set I decided to cut fat that I retained and gained during my break and re-start on a clean bulk. Below is my break down of my gym usage,
- July 2011 to March 2012 (raw bulk)
- April 2012 - May 2012 (cut)
- May 2012 - mid July 2012 ( tried to gain some mass after disheartened attempt to cut down body fat)
- Aug 2012 - January 2013 ( No gym use due to work and slight loss of interest - in an out of the gym)
- Feb 2013 - mid August 2013 (Correct cut, with track diet and macros and trying to lose bodyfat at a successful rate while trying to retain muscle that I have left)
- September 2013 + (correct bulking method with macros and tracking diet)
I love bodybuilding because the amount of compliments i receive on my physique.
daily bombarded with constructive compliments on any improvements which helps me thrive in the gym and keeps my motivation levels at a high
I also love working out because of the vast variety of health benefits associated with the sport and its a way in constructing your own mental and physical health, and I found out its a dedication not picked up but earned.
