I was a competitive gymnast for many years. Once I quit gymnastics after a nasty injury (crack of the sternum) I was quite sedentary the last year of Junior High. When I got to high-school, a gym opened up just next door, so I joined and have been going ever since (8 years!). I went in and out of phases of going or not going to the gym throughout high school, and progress was not always 100% consistent, but every time I went back i ended up even better off than the time before. My friends used to always ask me for workout tips, and exercises, and I used to drag them to the gym some days, and loved it. I loved seeing them achieve their goals; it was great! This is when I considered being a personal trainer. Knowing, especially as a woman that body image can be quite the complex topic, I loved helping, and haven't stopped. I am currently a gymnastics coach, a personal trainer, and have an honours degree in psychology and criminology. I recently had my first child (July, 2014), and with this gained approximately 80 lbs. With hard work and dedication I have gotten the weight off in 9 months, and have continually progress to an even stronger and leaner physique. I now own my own fitness company called StackedFitness.
