Started lifting in school (2003) just for something to do. It took a few years to add the real discipline required and another year or so to introduce adequate (though not excellent) nutrition. I did make EVERY SINGLE MISTAKE there is to make (no legs, too many sets, too many days, not eating right, etc etc etc) I trained like this for a long time. So if your asking when I started or when I started training right, the answer will be very different.
Enter 2011 - Finally started to get my workouts and ego under control. Simple heavy excercises focused on overall strength and large muscle groups. It was a re-birth and it has improved my life in quite literally every aspect.
I walk into the empty gym, I need the stress release. I must always exceed myself, I dream of getting bigger, I crave getting stronger and was I born to compete. These things are my life - thats why I live to lift.
