It was time to work on myself in every way imaginable.
After a tumultuous 2013 coupled with turning down an opportunity to practice medicine and leaving an awesome job working in a level 1 trauma ER, I made the decision to completely overhaul my life in 2014.
I knew it was time to focus on improving every aspect of myself, and that is when I picked up a barbell.
The rush, the progression, the pushing-through, the mental clarity.
The fortitude, the determination to BE BETTER, to DO BETTER, to OUTDO who I am and who I was.
The strength, the power, the potential, the drive to CHANGE MY LIFE.
The I-CAN-DO-THIS, the I-WILL-SUCCEED.
The resilience of never giving up, never tapping out, never giving in.
This is not just lifting a weight or running a mile, this is me CHANGING MY LIFE, this is me CHANGING MY MINDSET,
This is so I am not just physically strong, but mentally powerful and emotionally UNSHAKEABLE.
Now THAT is why I lift.
