My fitness journey really began back in 2010 during my deployment to Iraq in 2010. I always played sports growing up and as a result my fitness goals were always sports oriented. But during my off times from mission we really only had one thing to do. Lift weights!
upon returning home and adjusting to civilian life, I lost much of what i built overseas. It wasn't until 2015 I discovered the sport of strongman, and instantly was hooked putting all of my energy into the sport. I've podiumed 3 times and won twice over the 5 years I was actively competing and earned the Pennsylvania State record in the Axle clean and press in the 175lb men's open division, locking out 275 pounds overhead.
Since taking hiatus from the sport in 2019 I applied all my energy in preparing for the US Army's toughest school. Special Forces Assessment and Selection. this required me to reorient my fitness goals from a strictly explosive strength to high endurance and mental fortitude. Now that I've shot my shot, been humbled and determined I had not what it takes, I've focused my training to longevity with a balance between strength, explosiveness and endurance as I compete in the Tactical Games.
Its my meditation. Where i can turn off from the world and focus on myself. Whether it be to channel my built up aggression, in a productive manner; or focus my energy and strive for an outlined goal.
