So I decided to start my blog while eating Meal 2 (79g chicken and ½ cup of raspberries) this morning.
So here it goes, I first started a boot camp about 2 years ago after coming back from a business trip in Japan. My youngest son was almost a year old and as I looked at my pictures I realized that I really hadnât bounced back from that pregnancy as well as I had from my previous one. Well, I fell in love with my trainer, heavy weights and sore muscles!
Being a runner previously I had experienced that state of utopia that only pushing your body can achieve but I didnât realize that you could accomplish that same high with weights. I completed five months of boot camp and was seriously considering a competition until I had to have an emergency hysterectomy. That surgery took me down for a couple months but I started back a couple months later. However after a couple months my middle son was diagnosed with several neurological behavioral disorders and I knew that he needed my undivided attention and full commitment. So I took more time off, I got him on a routine schedule and enrolled in a private school. Now five months later I finally feel like I have my family and career on track and I can without guilt focus on my fitness.
I started back at the same boot camp at the beginning of January. The first week was brutal for me, I have always loved good food and wine! Sunday night as I was getting into bed I started checking my Facebook, which I donât do very often and all the boot campers were talking about this competition. (I think we have 18 people signed up from our gym). I got out of bed, signed up, grabbed a paper, put on my bikini (yikes!) and had my husband take my pictures.
Now, I have to get the courage to post those pictures! Maybe this afternoon..
There are many things that I canât change in life but my body isnât one of them! I love the sense of control and ownership I have over my body. I control my body, it doesnât control me â unless I let it!
