I was a college student working as a Hooter's Girl at the time. They gave us a free gym membership (on top of the facilities I already had on campus) and that was all she wrote! I was in the gym EVERYDAY. I came into college weighing 110 lbs. By the time I did my first competition at 21, I only weighed around 120 lbs. I believe I placed 8th. It was good enough to make it to the next round, but I did not place there. Then did my second one at 22. I had worked myself up to 130 lbs. This time I placed 3rd in the first round. I didn't place in the next round...again. :(
Then I met my now husband. He is a former athlete with some health issues, but boy does he know to train!!! He helped remind me that this was something I love to do, not just something to be good at.
I like the way I feel after a good work out...you know when your arms feel like noodles and you're walking like Bambi...yeah that feeling!!! It's an adrenaline rush!! I've tamed the ways I used to get my rush since settling down and starting a family. Working out lets me go as hard as I want, with less negative repercussions. LOL :)
