After my divorce 5 years ago, I started working out with an old high school friend. I had always been fit and active, but she taught me the fundamentals. Though I was like most women and thought I had to do tons of cardio to get the physique I wanted. So, I continued to do hours of cardio and dropped down to 118 lbs and was way too thin. Now, I focus more on muscle building, strength, and endurance. At 34, I am the fittest I have ever been, but still push to be better every day.
Weight lifting and working out my body allows me to unplug from my busy life and de-stress! It is ME time which I relish in because I have 3 sons that require the majority of my attention and time. But I don't mind....I love being a mom, but most of all I love being a fit mom that can enjoy the same activities as my boys! They are a lot to keep up with, and whether we are playing backyard football or on the basketball court, I am able to give them a mom with energy and ability....all thanks to working out!!!!!
