My Journey! Growing up I cheered, ran track, and enjoyed any type of physical activity! My husband and I started our family when I was 20 years young...post baby, was when my journey of weight and not so fit challenge began. I would start with the "New Year's Resolution" band wagon and then fall off when I wasn't seeing the results that I thought I should be seeing. It was easy to get frustrated, then just ease back in to the same old habits that were keeping me from reaching the goals that I knew with some hard work and consistency that I could reach. With my first pregnancy I gained about 40 lbs then, I lost some it shortly after giving birth, then would gain it back. Went to the weight loss doctor's for the "quick fix pills and shots". Yes, they would trick me into thinking that I didn't need as much food that I would normally consume, but then I didn't make the time and fit exercise into my schedule. I realized that I couldn't take the pills forever and then after I would stop taking them, I would just gain the weight back because I didn't have my head right. The discipline to say NO to food. So up and down the weight gain/loss roller coaster I went. Then, came the second baby about 7 years later...I would do some physical activity, but still gained a lot of weight....gained up to 195lbs....yes..you read that right and at 5'3" this was quite large. By the time my son was 2 I had lost about 35 lbs. This was good, but still unhealthy for my frame and overall health. When he was 3 1/2, I had enough. I knew that the state of physical shape that I was in, my self image, my relationships, etc... were not the best that they could be. Around Thanksgiving of 2011, I decided to get my head right and take a look at what all was keeping me from becoming the "Best Me" that I could be. From vices, like McDonalds Sweet tea....you know that Large one that is on the $1 menu....yes, I would get it with no ice, so that I could have more and would get about one of those big things every other day. Not to mention the other fast foods restaurants that we had during the week. It was out of control. ******See my "BODY BLOG" under "My Get Me Back Journey" for the continuation and details!!!
The feeling and the results that I receive after doing it! Plus it's something that my husband and I enjoy doing together and we are now sharing our story and progress with others to inspire and encourage them, that they also can reach their goals and dreams as long as they have a "NO QUIT" attitude and good work ethic!
