My journey began back in my first year of college. I was dealing with overcoming an eating disorder of Anorexia Nervosa. I would hit the treadmill and only do cardio on a daily basis to stay very thin. I hardly ate, was losing my hair, had no energy and was just not happy with myself. By going for my daily cardio sessions I realized how much better I felt afterwards. This helped me deal with the stress from school. As time went on I slowly began to eat. I was feeling better, put on some weight but still not satisfied.
One day I seen this fitness magazine at the grocery checkout. These women were beautiful and very athletic looking. I wanted to achieve their look and to live a healthier life. I had no idea where to turn to was looking for a coach to help me achieve my goals. I wanted to be fit and healthy inside and out.
I found a coach online and immediately began my journey. As time went on, I decided to compete in my first figure competition in 2009. I have been hooked since and did a few shows after this qualifying me to compete at National level in figure held in New Westminster, BC, Canada in August 2013.
Fitness has become a strong part of my daily lifestyle. I look forward to challenging myself each and everyday of my life. Fitness has saved me from my past eating disorder; it helps me deal with stress effectively. I want to spread and share my passion onto my 2.5 year old son and friends around me. I want to teach people that fitness doesn`t mean spending time at the gym all the time. You can be active anytime, anywhere. Be creative and have fun with it.
