In my twenties I was a cardio queen and when you are young, that's good enough but when I hit my thirties, the weight started to creep on. By the time I hit 40 I had learned to love resistance training and was quite fit until a couple of accidents sidelined me.
Despite grim predictions by some 'specialists' that I'd never get off pain killers and would need several surgeries to fix a chronic spine problem, I managed to rehab myself to a point where the pain was only noticeable occasionally. (So much for the advice of the expensive doctors!) But I was not doing anything more than walking occasionally and that coupled with menopause caused the fat to pile on.
When I turned 50, I decided I needed to do something about all the weight I had put on and returned to weight lifting. Now 14 months later, I have reclaimed a much younger figure.
My goal is to see just how far I can turn back the clock through proper training and diet.
