I went for a yearly physical in October 2014 at 42 years old. Happily married, hard worker, felt pretty good, felt in decent shape. Definitely had the dadbod though. When I got my results back from my labs it was a wake up call. My Triglycerides were 398, and my Cholesterol was at 393. My doc advised either meds or a lifestyle change. I don't like meds. Started with a diet change. I cut out almost all sugars and almost all white starches and carbs. From October 2014 -Jan 2015 I lost almost 30lbs with just a diet change and sticking to it. Once I saw the softness and pounds going away it motivated me to start working out / exercising again in Feb 2015. I want to be with my family as long as possible! In just 13 months I dropped my Triglycerides to 75 and Cholesterol down to 170.

I want to be with my wife and family as long as the Lord will allow, and if there is anything I can do to help him out, I will!! I love seeing the physical changes, and love feeling the mental changes that come along with it. I love the fact that it went from being something I dreaded doing to something I dread doing without. I feel like each workout is taking a small drink from the fountain of youth. I feel better after the workout than before!
