Growing up I was always bigger than my skinny friends, I was inactive to the point where gym class was literally humiliating to the point of tears. My face would get VERY red, and I was often one of the very last to finish things. I had always been interesting in improving myself, my father, a marine, would help reach me workouts on his total gym in our garage. I started cheerleading my freshman year of high school and found myself on that Total gym quite a bit. Eventually I switched to water polo, and kept with that, but still didn't do enough in my off season to really get me in shape. Eventually, I took a weight training class my senior year and I LOVED it! I lost about 10 lbs, and all of a sudden people were commending me on my body and shape. I tried to stick with it in college, but I found that I always felt guilty working it when I felt like I should be spending my time studying instead. My journey through fitness and into bodybuilding began IMMEDATELY after I was done with college, in the summer of 2012!
I love the challenge, and for some reason, I find watching my personal progress addicting!! Seeing that progress is enough motivation itself to keep going. Some of my friends and co-workers think I'm crazy, but I LOVE it!! It's extremely satisfying to visually see the progress and change from each workout.
