I was first given a full one year membership to a local gym from my uncle back in 1998. Working full time and being a full time student was wearing me out, I wasn't in to it much. Around 2000 he gave me another full year membership to a different place that I liked. He passed away in 2002 due to obesity related health problems, I've been going steady at it ever since at first doing the treadmill only, adding elliptical machines, increasing intensity. Now I lift weight 3 days a week along with that, take supplements and go at least 5 or 6 days a week. Dieting is my biggest problem which is why I haven't seen big results but I'm reading up and changing that as well.:)
I just feel better afterwards. I have more energy, I'm inspired by the people I see with my ideal body, I've met some cool people that give good advice and after all, it's much better than sitting at home on the couch for two hours instead.
