I have always been a very active person. I love outdoor activities (camping, hiking, water skiing, canoeing) and have worked out off and on. As I approached my 40th b'day I realized that apparently my metabolism had all but stalled out and quit! All of a sudden I was 15 pounds heavier than I had ever been! I had gained this over a period of two years. In Jan 2010 I bought my first Oxygen Fitness Magazine for inspiration and workout tips. I soon realized it WAS possible at 40 to look FABULOUS! It was my goal to see if I could get there. One year later I posted my after pictures on Bodybuilding.com! As I learned more about clean eating and using weight training... the more I saw my body changed! I was at my best fitness level ever when I surprisingly found out that my husband of 2.5 years and I were expecting a baby! Yes, I was pregnant with my 3rd child at almost 41! I stayed active and ate pretty clean, but was unable to work out with the intensity I had become accustomed. I gained 30 pounds. My 3rd son was born sept 29th 2011! I proved again that it IS possible to be healthy and fit after baby and over 40! I competed in NPC Bikini and Figure to give myself some goals. The first year I competed in Bikini only. The next year I competed in Master Bikini and Open and Masters Figure. I've qualified for Junior Nationals and Nationals in both classes. I love the adrenaline leading up to the stage! I've had a lot of personal stress and lifestyle adjustments the last two years. Its time to get my fitness back! To be continued.....
