I live in Tokyo, After March 11th when the Fukushima Daiichi plant blew up, I found that I could barely lift my son and run 125m without ending breathless, sore, and dead tired. I started training hoping to build some strength in case I need to 'run' again in the future. Can't beat age though :)... hope that I will not have to 'run' at all again

Have the feeling that I am in a better physical condition in case I need to use it to protect my family.
Put myself under a physical/mental challenge that I can't get at the office.
Trying to compensate the effects of aging and slower metabolism.
Set an example to my older soon on how to challenge oneself.
