February of 2011 my husband decided, as a couple we were going to start eating clean, and acheive over all health. Together! For the first time in my life, I was eating meat that didn't come from a drive thru & veggies I spent 20+ years refusing to try. (I NEVER ate a veggie until I was 22 yrs old. Not ONE.)
A naturally thin, former dancer, who got really good at crash dieting & binge eating-I decided to take up cross training and distance running. Much of 2012 was spent running races, my first Half Marathon even! In January 2013 I hired an online PT, accomplished in body building and figure competition. For the first time in my life I was lifting heavy & loved it!
That was short lived- February 2013 we learned we were pregnant!! But...I was "high risk" for months. Therefor, little to no physcial activity took place & the changes my body has made have discouraged me on many, many days.
On August 21st I was induced due to preeclampsia that had caused high blood pressure, excessive water weight gain, and swelling. Our son, Titus Anthony was born a month early but healthy as a horse! He is now 5 weeks old, I am home with him another month before returning to work, and using the time wisely. I am excited to find the motivation I need to get back on the train and be the best mama I can be!
I firmly believe if you look good-you feel good. And if you feel good-life is good. I want to set an example for my children to grow up knowing how important health is, I didn't have parents like that.
