I started working out seriously after I resigned from my PhD programme, which only lasted for 6 months (January 2009 to June 2009). Before the PhD, I had always been skinny with visible six pack abs, which I didn't mind at all (what mattered to me was the abs).
Because of my hectic schedule, unhealthy lifestyle, and stressful environment, I remained skinny but my tummy ballooned. My weight or should I say, my fat, went up by 6kg. My weight wento to 62kg from 56kg. Needless to say, no more six pack abs.
Since after I resigned, all I did was looking for a job, I got much free time. And since I was not happy at all with my tummy during that time, I started to spend more time in reading about training & nutrition, especially for fat loss. As I read more, I was fascinated with all the science and reasons behind every training & nutrition regimen.
Because of that, I started taking my workout more seriously and since then, I have always been serious about my workout & nutrition.
I love working out because through it, I have always been forced to push beyond my comfort zone, which does not come naturally for comfort zone person like me. And I always know that someday, my hard work will pay off if I am consistent and patient enough!
