I started practising karate when I was 6 years old and I kept doing it until I was 19 years old and I got my black belt in the summer of 2009.
Even though I practised karate from the tender age of 6, I've always been a chubby kid as much as when I was 11 years old I went to a dietologist to help me lose weight and keep my health in check.
Through puberty and practising sports (in addition to karate I practised soccer and tried volleyball and swimming) I lost weight but found myself with little to no muscle and unhappy with my physique so I started looking for a way to better my physique - aesthetically and functionally - and started working out at home.
In 2010 I left karate, joined a gym and begin to take working out seriously. I then weighed around 64 kg and in 2 years of working out I added about 13 kg of lean mass to my frame. Now, I'm ready to keep adding mass and leaning out to reach my ultimate physique goal: a body a fitness model would be envious of!
Aesthetics goal aside, I've set for myself some strength goals too such as a 200kg Squat, a 140kg Bench, a 240kg Deadlift and a 90kg Ohp. So far my best lifts have been: 170kg Squat, 120kg Bench, 200kg Deadlift, 75kg Ohp so I have still such a long way to go to reach my goals but I'm confident I'll make it.
My ultimate goal is to become a well-known personal trainer and fitness model as I'm currently ISSA Certified and I'm taking my degree in Sports Sciences at the Catholic University of Milan.
Another goal of mine is to move to the US to better my fitness knowledge, train in the beautiful gyms over there and become a renowned personal trainer and fitness model.
I love working out because is me against myself. Bodybuilding is a sport where you are competing only against yourself and the only thing that matters - to me, anyway - is to do better than last time wheter that would be adding a rep or two, adding more weight to the bar or perform the same amount of work but in less time. As long as I can do this, I'm happy.
In addition, bodybuilding really healps to clear my mind - working out, for me, sometimes resembles a form of "meditation in motion" - and to better my mood and my life in general: the drive, the discipline and the determination it takes are precious qualities that can better you day to day life too.
The health benefits derived from bodybuilding are amazing too and I see no other way to live besides the "fit and strong" way!
