I used to lift weights when I was younger and would occasionally hit them gym over the years. Recently I was told by my doctor that I was fat, out of shape, had high blood pressure and was a borderline diabetic.
I had to make a change. I knew that running miles a day would not work for me, I had to make my fitness interesting to keep myself motivated.
Voila, powerlifting.
Powerlifing has kept me motivated thus far and I do not see it letting me down anytime soon. I set my lifting goals and then I achieve them.
I am fortunate enough to have a work environment that consist of revolving employees, all of which lift.
So every time I go to the gym I have at least two workout partners and it is not always the same two. We all for the most part have the same routine, so we motivate each other on a daily basis. Whether we are in the gym, or on the job talking about goals and supplements, we always motivate each other.
