In 2014, My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma at the age of 29. Speed ahead to Nov 2016, while in remission at the time, we decided together, we needed to get healthier to live longer for our kids and each other. With the dreaded Thanksgiving coming up, we started right then and there. Speed ahead a little more to 2017, we pushed harder to be in the gym for each other. Literally, we would not talk in the morning. It is too early at 4:30am. We would get up and just roll out. By the end of the workouts we were chatty and exciting. We both reached small goals and by the end of 2017, we had accomplished weight loss on my end and weight gained on his end (which was his goal due to also having UC-Ulcerative ****tis which makes him lose appox. 50lbs). In 2018, we had decided to make a goal to gain MORE muscle. While we did okay with that in 2017, we did not reach the visual comfort level that we wanted, and that is okay because it takes time to make art. So, here we are in 2018, my husband has a tumor in his brain but with radiation, it is hopefully running away. We are still more powerful together in the gym, so that is where we will be this year, doing the #250KChallenge2018. We have so much to be thankful for and have plans to be setting new goals every year for the next 80 years.
Bodybuilding and Working Out gives me the ability to do things for myself that I normally would not do. It gives me the courage to push on through difficult situations in the gym and out of the gym. Using Bodybuilding.com gives me access to so many workouts. Sure, I could find my own plans and sometimes do, but using the laid out plans makes it hard for me to let myself off the hook when in the gym. Plus, while I think I know so very much about working out, the professional plans gives me more tips and insights on things that maybe I had not thought of or didn't know. There isn't always someone to ask, so having Bodybuilding.com at my disposal is a huge key to my success.
