I've been in the army for almost 13 years now, so fitness has always been a must. As a paratrooper, you need a strong body and the ability to run. From 2012 through 2013, I was looking for what fit me. I tried variations on crossfit. They helped lean me about, but didn't pack on much muscle. In January of this year (2014), I decided that I wanted to put on mass and increase strength so I switched to power-lifting. That worked out pretty well for a while and I enjoyed it a great deal. Finally, sometime this summer, I watched Generation Iron. Before that, I didn't really know much about the Olympia. That's when I decided that I wanted to be on that stage. I'm giving myself some time. It's hard to schedule the time for a career in the Army, a family and chase the Mr. Olympia dream, so I decided I wanted to be on that stage in 2020. I'm giving myself 6 years. That will allow for all of the surprises the Army has to offer and still be able to put in work at the gym. Anyway, this is me, this is my goal. I want to be in the top 10 in 2020. See you at the Olympia!
I read somewhere that bodybuilding is like being an artist. Instead of using stone, clay, wood, or ice as a medium to carve out your dreams, you are using your own body. You see the inner beast. You shred away the weakness and allow it to break through to the surface. HTFU!
