I got off to a bad start, throwing myself into excessive cardio and calisthenics to shed a few pounds. I'd just arrived in New Zealand having sailed from England, and the combination of inactivity on board and comfort eating had left me- if not overweight- then uncomfortable with my size. Unfortunately, this developed into delightful combination of anorexia and exercise addiction, which I'm now fully recovered from. A huge part of the recovery process is down to bodybuilding- to regain muscle and to put a positive spin on weight gain and food. I'm now able to help others overcome the same issues, which is amazing.
Weights training the only thing that can really pick me up when I'm stressed or run down. Gritting my teeth through that extra rep or upping the weight another kg or two gives me immense satisfaction. I also love to help others achieve their body goals and busting all those annoying fitness and nutrition myths.
