During and after having my first child, I stacked on nearly 30kg. I was living in a vicious cycle of feeling like crap, eating crap food to make me feel better, then feeling even more crappy because I was putting on more weight. Eventually I reached a point where I was sick of not fitting into nice clothes, not feeling good about myself and feeling ashamed/embarrassed with how I was living (or not living) life. I finally kicked my arse into gear and realised that because I am a Mum now, I need to get off my butt and be a positive and healthy role model. I armed myself with information about healthy eating and exercisingâ¦then came across bodybuilding.com. I'm now ready to start my journey towards becoming the fittest, healthiest and happiest version of myself.
Since I started viewing fitness in a positive light, and not something to be dreaded, I now find working-out as my outlet. It's a chance for me to take some well needed 'ME' time once a day. Strangely enough, amongst working, house cleaning and looking after a 6mth old babyâ¦my daily work-out sessions are actually peaceful and relaxing (even when the music is blasting in my ears).
