After being a stay at home mom for 8 years, I had ballooned up to 244 pounds. I had moved with my then fiance to the other side of the country when he decided to cheat and then leave for another woman. I found myself not only suddenly working again, but also being unable to eat much of anything due to emotional turmoil. I finally started eating again right around 163 pounds and gained back a chunk of that (which I expected). I've been sitting between 190 and 200 pounds since then. I took back up my love (Tae Kwon Do) and I'm finding that the excess weight is hurting my knees, so I'm aiming to both lose about 30 pounds and gain some muscle mass, especially in my core and upper body. I started weight training because diet and cardio isn't doing it by itself.
