As I grew older, my diet grew worse, my metabolism slowed down, and I because increasingly sedentary. I was accepted into a fitness program that my employer runs. It's guided by two very knowledgeable personal trainers. They started me off doing bodyweight exercises, high rep weight training, and light cardio. As my conditioning improved, they transitioned me into primarily weight training, at a variety of intensities/rep ranges. I found that I really enjoyed it, and continued after my time in the program came to an end.
Why I Love it
I don't know? lol I had some previous experience with weight training, and was actually in very good shape at one point. I never enjoyed working out though. I saw it as a chore, which is why I was never able to maintain it for long periods of time. After getting some one on one training on how to perform individual exercises, and gaining some understanding of how programming works overall, I found that I really liked working out when I have a properly setup training schedule. I enjoy working on perfecting the movements. I enjoy working hard to progress towards higher weights. Overall, I've learned that I really excel when I have a roadmap to follow and goals I want to reach.
