I was sitting at home one day and I saw the commercial for the "perfect pull-up" bar,,and I remembered how good I was at doing them in high school. The next day I bought a piece of pipe and some chains and made a chin-up bar in my attic to see if I still "had it". Turns out I did. After the chin-up bar,,,,I decided that I may as well do some other exercises while I was at it...so I started doing other bodyweight exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, dips...etc. After that I bought a resistance band and some dumbbells and started exercising every night. Before long I started seeing some muscle (and weight) gains, and decided to go all-out. I bought or made all the equipment I now use, and workout 3-4 times a week. My dad saw the gains I was making with every workout and decided that he (at 52 years old) wanted to start lifting and lose some weight. I started coaching him on exactly what I was doing (when I worked out alone) and what supplements to be taking. After 12 weeks I got him down to his weight goal of 175 pounds and now he's focused more on building muscle. We both work out every other day now and have seen many positive results that have risen from this whole way of life that started with a simple chin-up bar.
I love seeing my body transform, and pushing myself beyond the norm and scope of what the human body is possible of doing. I also like when people assume that I'm weak, or talk **** because I'm only 126 pounds,,,,,then when I take my shirt off,,they all of the sudden ask if they can work out with me.
