I originally started working out in 1994 when I was 16. I played football, basketball, and ran track in high school but got injured before going to college. I was diagnosed with a slipped epithesis and had to have surgery to place a pin in my hip. I already had a knee injury and after the surgery the doctor encouraged me not to pursue competitive sports because of the risk involved, so I decided to only play recreational sports from that point forward. I received Lee Haney's book as a Christmas present and I started working out at home with a weight bench and dumbbells. At 16 I bought Arnold's Encyclopedia and joined a Gold's Gym where many of the WCW and WWF wrestlers worked out. Some of the wrestlers took me under their wing and from that point I was hooked. I was dedicated and consistent for 10 years, until about 4 years ago; that's when I started working all of the time, going out with friends every week, and found excuses not to workout or eat right. One week turned into a month, which turned into a year, then several years. I guess now, I'm sort of starting over again.
It's a never ending challenge that has nothing to offer but rewards. I love the focus, the discipline, the pump, the results, the mind-body connection... and looking good is also a bonus.
