By my 31'st birthday, I didn't feel as healthy as I'd have liked to. I was lethargic, and living a largely sedentary lifestyle. I decided to quit smoking cigarettes, make an effort to become more active, and start eating better.
At first I tried dieting, even juice fasting and vegetarian/vegan meals in an effort to trim down. This worked ok and I lost weight, but injured myself skateboarding and went back to the couch. I gained all the weight I had lost back, and then some... and after some time in a cast - my right arm was weaker than ever.
I had been telling friends and relatives that I wanted to hit the gym when the cast came off.. and once it did it was time to get to work. A friend who is very fitness oriented began helping me out by taking me along on his daily workouts and showing me the exercises that he uses to maintain a bodybuilder image. Before long my weight was going up and the body fat was going down!
I love how good I feel each day, I have more energy than ever, a better outlook on life, and I feel much stronger. The improvements are already there after only a few weeks of working out. I can run longer, swim faster, lift more weight, and some of my friends have even mentioned that my physique looks much better, my upper body is noticeably bigger. It feels really good to know that the little bit of effort put in so far is already paying off!
