I had been active most of my life playing sports, hiking, etc. After I got married and started a family and career, I found that time to exercise and take care of myself became very rare. After gaining a lot of weight and becoming very out of shape, I realized I had to take charge and make the time to live a healthy, active life. It started with just wanting to lose weight, then I wanted to add muscle, then I set a goal to compete. Now, I live every day knowing that I have the tools and will power to be the best person I can be.
I love being fit because it gives me a sense of accomplishment. There's always a goal. The goal can be to lose a few pounds or gain more muscle or increase my max squat or just simply crush this workout. There are big goals and little goals. Either way, a sense of pride comes from taking the next step, no matter what that goal is.
