I first started working out regularly in 2001 after I graduated from College. It was 2007 when I decided to do triathlons. I had a great coach and I took off in the sport. I had never been in such great shape. In 2010 I got burned out. The training volume and race schedule was too much. I became lame with an overuse injury in my knee and it bummed me out. I gained a bunch of weight. The max weight I hit was 165 from 135. I was depressed and felt disgusting. I have tried P90X and Insanity. I have done crash diets, diet pills and been anorexic. It is time to get back into a routine. A meal plan and workout program that will work and be sustainable is what I am going to do. I am ready to take charge of my SELF!
I love the burn. That warmth that creeps up from your calves when you do a calf raise. Or the shaky hands from pull ups or rock climbing. And the best is in the day to day. Pulling the dress you have not fit into for years or the skinny jeans in the back of your closet. Or being able to carry ALL the groceries on one arm and open the front door to the house at the same time. My ultimate love of weight lifting is from the strength you feel from within.
