I have tried off and on to work out and improve my body image. After many failures, I found what it was that was blocking me, it was me and my motivation. Over the past several years, I have had several roadblocks but am now on the road to recovery and improving myself.
I have hit the reset button and now on a steady and systematic change to my life.
I have given up booze, have slowed my smoking down to a few cigarettes a day. I went from 115lbs back in December 2018, 127lbs on February 2019 and am now at 133.5lbs.
I have hit multiple things at one time:
1. Improved my sleep by taking melatonin and getting a good 7-8 hours of sleep at night and going to bed and waking up at the same time.
2. Drinking lemon/lime water first thing in the morning.
3. Yoga/pilates/streching first thing in the morning.
4. Taking my vitamins and supplements along with yogurt.
5. Eating 3 meals a day with 1 to 2 snacks. (healthy foods, have left fast food behind me). Eating is at a consistent time.
6. Going on daily or evening walks which average to about 3-4 miles. The weekends it is 6-8 miles.
7. Riding a bike to where I need to go or on the weekend, just going for a ride.
8. Lifting weights 3 times a week, with some activity on my off days.
For 49 years, I have tried off and on to work out but I lacked the motivation and determination to get me through the first 3-4 weeks. As I am approaching 50, I have found a new purpose in my life, and a strong and driven motivation and determination to be healthy, look healthy and live healthy.
The past 3 months (it is 4 May 2019), I have seen slow but steady progress in how my body looks and the healthy weight I have gained. I have strength, I don't tire as easily and I look good. I also feel healthy and better than I ever have in my life. This is why I love bodybuilding, it is what it has done for me physically, mentally and emotionally. My life has improved drastically in the past 3 months.
