I got started working out and aspiring to compete after 3 kids and years of yo-yo dieting and hitting my all time low of weighing nearly 200lbs and not being able to run 1.5 blocks to catch my child's ball that rolled down the street. What started as wanting to finally lose weight and get into shape by making a change in my lifestyle, turned into a career and a passion in the health and fitness industry and the desire to help others achieve the confidence and discipline to live a healthier lifestyle. Now at the age of 40 with my oldest child is going to college in a few short weeks to play division one football on a full ride scholarship and my other 2 kids are very successful in athletics as well. I feel as though a good deal of their discipline and drive has come from seeing their mom dedicated to fitness and setting and achieving goals.
I love bodybuilding and working out because I know that no matter how crazy everything else in my life gets this is the one thing I have complete control over if I am dedicated and driven enough. I love stepping on stage and competing against women half my age that have never had kids or had to battle the hardship of weighing 200lbs. Being able to celebrate the victory of now stepping on stage in that little suit and beat them gives me such a sense of accomplishment! I also love the feeling I get when others see and comment on how good I look because of my passion for what I do! I get just as much satisfaction when I see that ah-ha moment click with my clients. When I can celebrate the victory of them seeing the results of their hard work. I also mentor young women that struggle with body image and weight issues to help them to understand the importance of figuring it out early before complicating their lives with children and jobs and spouses. What I do is very empowering and I LOVE it!!
