I've worked out on and off since high school. No real consistency till now. Been a fan of IFBB bodybuilding since the early 90s.
Since, I was a junior in HS my weight always hovered between 250-260lbs. I was a three sport athlete (Football, Wrestling, Track&Field)and carried about 22% BF. During college I was able to maintain around 250lb with 25% BF.
When I was 27, I went through a very hard time personally and let it get to me physically. On Sept 3, 2010 I went for a checkup and my weight checked in at 305lbs with over 35% BF. It was probably the lowest point of my life.
That day I started a diet, knowing very little about "Macro needs", I just ate steam vegetables, steamed chicken and fish with a glass of water to drink for three straight months and dropped 40 pounds. Probably lost as much muscle as fat as I didn't realize the importance of protein intake.
There was very little exercise during this time. After the new year I started eating regularly again and gained 10 pounds to stay at 270 with 30% BF.
In Mid-April 2011, I began a program of weight training and a muscle saving/building fat loss diet with the help of BB.com and its forums.
So far I've had a lot of success. I plan to document my progress in my bodyspace blog and with regular progress pictures.
