As a previous high performance athlete, on and off court training was my lifestyle. Following the completion of my college career&the experience of burnout, I turned to running&yoga as my physical outlets&thoroughly enjoyed them. While I had tried returning to the gym, I found it boring. The boredom was due to a lack of community at the gym&new vision for how lifting could serve me. I now find myself at a club where I'm reconnected with my sport in the company of new friends who share similar values&fun and discovering how lifting has even greater importance in and impact on the experience of my health.
It's surprising to say I enjoy lifting. Things have clicked for me as I've experimented with various approaches and experienced the some improvement of my body's overall balance, coordination and strength. There's been just enough consistency&results that I'm eager to take a next step in developing this habit. Now my competition is my progress and pleasure is my health.
