Was a fat kid recruited into football during high school where I didn't lift at all but got up to a weight of over 315lbs. When I got to college, I started doing powerlifting and Olympic lifting workouts for football and weighed roughly 280lbs all four years until I graduated and started working full time. I had to attend an academy for my profession where one of the fitness instructors gave an introduction speech and talked about heavier folks needing to push themselves away from the dinner table, make better choices at meal time and put the effort into their workouts to drop the weight. I lost 33lbs over three months and started doing bodybuilding style workouts over the next few years, never getting a really good handle on the diet aspect of bodybuilding. From 2004 through 2007, I was in the shape of my life, down to a lean 215lbs and actually able to fit into size 34 jeans! In 2007 a good friend was killed in Iraq...that was a turning point for me because I don't remember ever getting a handle on the diet again. In 2008, I ended up transferring to a different location for work and found myself hovering around 255lbs! In an effort to lose that weigh again, I started down the extreme cardio path...even completed a marathon and several half marathons, but all I lost was the strength in my legs. In the Fall of 2013, I moved into a larger residence and unpacked all the old training journals from my 215lb-days. In early November, 2013, I started back on the path to regaining the physical strength and dietary discipline I had when I was 215lbs.
