I have always worked out, but it was hit and miss. In 2001, I went to see a cardiovascular diease doctor who thought I had a small tear/leak in my aorta. A cardiac catherization revealed to leak and a healthy heart. In 01/2003, I thought I was having a heart attack. After all the testing and a stress test in nuclear medicine, the physicians determined that it was a false alarm. Thus, I made a decision to start improving my health by eating clean and working out. I made decision to never give up. I believe that every bit counts.
I feel better, and the health benefits of exercising includes weight loss, disease prevention (hyperlipidemia, hypertension, heart disease, certain cancers), stress reductions and improves my overall health. In 2006, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS); followed by optic neuritis and severe psoariasis (2007); followed by scoliosis (2008); followed by malignant carcinoid tumor (2010); and avascular necrosis of hips (2012). In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I must continue to workout, i.e., lifting weights, stretching, tae kwon do, hap ki do.
