Before having children, I practically lived in the gym (my oldest is 23yrs old). Over the years I lost the motivation to take time for "Me". As a result, I gained 90+lbs. I started actively working out again approximately 2yrs ago, only to be injured at work requiring knee surgery. Depression had set in as well as the severe osteoarthritis in my knees. My career requires endurance which I find I don't have any longer. Although I have been advised not to do high impact exercise by my doctor..I crave the Zumba! I was doing great 6 days a week losing 30lbs..but then got injured AGAIN at work and with that gained back 17lbs. I have agreed to try the Zumba Gold this time around and have been attending 2times a week for 3wks now..but it's not enough. Not to mention I don't sweat as much as I would like to...Time to increase the workouts!! I really want to stay motivated! <-----Previous Entry was written 1/2012..----->Here I am 12/2014. After great success and making it to the gym 4-6days a week, losing weight/inches, I sit here logging my re-entry to making significant changes. This past year I went through a divorce, relapsed with depending on alcohol..well, tried to fool myself that I could drink it and I'd be okay. I only recently made it back into the gym after over 1 year with absolutely no exercise. I gained 50+ pounds in 1 year !! This belly has grown, chins increasing, clothes got too small...It's gross. With that said...Well, I'm just being honest and open. I'm holding myself accountable because I'm the only one who can get myself out of this mess!! Time to get started...well RE-Started!! :)***HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU RE-START?! It's now 2018....I CAN'T GIVE UP! Over the past year I learned ,the hard way, that I AM powerless over Alcohol..my years of dealing with it MY way have shown to be unsuccessful. You just can't lose the weight or work out efficiently with alcohol in the system!! . My goal is to get back my self confidence and self love! **Whew! That last part was difficult to be open about, but it's all about being held accountable, right?!! It's now 2019! I'm turning 50 this year! Thankful to still be Alcohol free! Last drink was 9/20/17.
