Overall Goal: Getting stronger and looking better. I'd like to be a legit lightweight (which means 160-ish lbs at a low body fat percentage) before my next tournament. I'd also like to be a member of the "1,000 Club" too. :D (1,000 lbs combined Bench/Squat/Dead)
I started off as a twig. When I graduated high school going into college, I weighed ~120 lbs, at my current height.
(Plus my gym teacher called me the "Weakest Man in the World" and a "Gold medalist in the Weak Man Olympics." Jackass!) My starting barbell bench max was 85 lbs. That was a ONE-REP MAX. That meant I couldn't even pyramid my sets because the starting weight would be less than the bar.
I got started bodybuilding/working out because I was sick and tired of always being the scrawniest person in the room. Been stumbling along ever since!
Why I Love It:
I started (like so many other guys, I think) to impress someone else, or to attempt to somehow raise my "value" in the eyes of others.
Not anymore.
Now it's 100% for myself. Compliments are appreciated, of course, but not necessary. If I were stranded on a desert island I would still find some way to work out (with weighted coconuts perhaps?!) because it makes me feel good, it keeps me healthy, and in a life where so many things are beyond your control... how I look and feel ISN'T. It would be a waste if I didn't try to improve myself.
How I Stay Motivated:
Remembering that Hell is meeting the person you could've been. I'm not going to be someone that I can't be proud of.
Would you believe this is after I already was "lifting" for 1.5 years? And a full 25 lbs heavier than when I started in college? I was really, REALLY skinny when I started. And I wasn't lifting smart or eating right either... time wasted. I wish I had photos from when I started, I probably looked ...

Goal (Long):
When you've spent a number of years with a singular goal and plan in mind and it all crumbles away... it's easy to become lost.
I'm doing my best not to let it get me down. Learning any lessons that can be learned, and trying to turn it all into added motivation to keep me going, to keep at this, to keep pushing myself as hard as I can.
I want to get stronger. It'll only help me with my new goals and in my life.
1,000 Club Updates:
07/28/09: 700 lbs combined!
10/25/09: 800 lbs combined!
Okay, that's enough. Shutup and train, right? :)
Going to be logging the first 4 weeks on the forums, courtesy of Neogenix whom set me up with the GTR Stack. Afterwards, I'll continue logging back here. :D
Turbulence Training is a specific style of workout that i'm trying cuz Im working on core strength, endurance and gaining overall muscle. They are basically super efficient workouts that dont take long but incorporate very intense combinations of exercises including supersets.
Yep, spinning is cycling. It's WAAAY BETTER than the stationary bike. I can get a w/o on the stationary bike, but it doesn't really feel like being on a real bike. Spin bikes do. Doing standing hill climbs, speed intervals, etc. Great w/o.
Nice progress man. Hey, you mentioned you don't have good back equipment for lats. Check this site out: http://www.rffitness.com
I am thinking of purchasing one.
Nice progress. What are you next goals? Have you ever looked into this online training by stevep78? I keep reading people on here who have, and they are getting nice results.
it constantly feels like I need to pop it & I lose stability during some workouts. It sucks because I'm afraid to do squats and certain things like that
