Sometimes life changes cause a man to assess his life and try to determine who he is and what he needs to do to be happy. 11 years ago I realized that I had been hiding my true authentic self and the way I delt with stress and sadness and boredom was, I just ate. Well it resulted in a lot of health issues and very low self esteem so I just started walking around the track at the golf course 5 days a week and then I joined a gym. No surgery or pills just moving. I also joined weight watchers because it was free with my employers insurance policy. To this day I still head for the junk food when I get stressed out but then I get back on the healthy bandwagon and try to make up for all the damage I did the day before. I hope one day to be completely satisfied and comfortable with this body I am in but in the meantime I will look at my then and now pictures and pat myself on the back and say “you know, it isn’t easy and it will always be a struggle but **** it, you made a choice, stuck to it and that is something that you can be truly proud of.”
