I'm listed as a competitor. My youngest son will accompany me to the NPC Southern California Show, and I'm so excited to share this experience with him. I wish it was all 3 of my sons, but I'll settle for one, lol. Over the last few months I have been asked WHY are you doing this??? It's not about having people look at me, or being prettier then the lady standing next to me. It's about feeling good in my own skin again. I don't need a trophy or this contest for that fact. I made a commitment to this competition to hold ME accountable for my actions. To me it's my worst nightmare, standing in front of a room full of people in a swimsuit!!! When I walk across the stage, it will be with a deep pride in myself and a new found strength that No one can ever take from me. I have already won this, I have already succeeded, because I now see that lady in the mirror that has always been in my head for years. If my journey has encouraged just one person to make life altering changes, then I have already won again. Never give up on yourself, NO ONE can make you healthy and happy, it's all on your shoulders. So hold them high, stay motivated and most of all don't lose your focus!!!
