3 Months Post-Shoot update...
OVERALL RATING
3 Months Post-Shoot update = reverse dieting in progress. From 8 stone 13.4lbs to 9 stone 5.2lbs. Calories up to an average of 1,800 per day (although split to have more on weekends - here I am on 200g today so have already had sandwiches and cake). Training, whilst in lockdown, has been 10kg adjustable dumbbells, resistance bands, and the occasional run. ??ââï¸ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Itâs funny. When youâve been trying pretty much your whole life to see the scales go â¬ï¸, nothing can prepare you mentally for the fact that - if you are trying to build muscle and increase your metabolic rate - you will actually see the scales go up (and want them to). Itâs been a big learning curve for me and one I have struggled a bit with mentally. Itâs still hard sometimes to not equate the number on the scale with worth, even though I know it is only one metric in a series of fitness metrics. By adding extra calories, along with muscle gain, there is also inevitably going to be a slight fat increase. You have to remind yourself that the aim is to grow some muscle and push those calories up, so this is all part and parcel. ?? I have been very fortunate to have @rubenferreira_coaching as my coach; he not only guides me physically through this (implementing more calories on weekends, tweaking macros/exercise intensity, etc) and mentally (offering his knowledge and experience on how to stay in a healthy headspace during this new phase). ? To live in the moment, to fight negative thoughts with positive ones, and to remember your worth. ? That food is fuel and the number of the scales is not really anything more than a metric. Itâs not you. ⨠Gymwear: @primark
